If 15 minutes of beating with an electric mixer constitutes magic, then yes, it helped me turn two egg whites, half a cup of water, and a cup and a half of sugar into what you see above. I was thrilled and pleasantly surprised that the icky, viscous combination I started with turned into glossy, fluffy goodness.
The cake inside? Oh, that was (relatively) healthy chocolate cake, as evidenced here:
Hopefully the fact that the lion's share of the cake was devoured at a birthday celebration is a good indication that it didn't taste "(relatively) healthy."

Ah, yes, and vanilla. But the consistency was already impressive before that was added (near the end), so I didn't attribute any magic to it. And/or I forgot that it was included...
