1. Electrical work in the attic is done. Yay! Baseboard heaters and recessed lighting and white switchplates and a bunch of wiring to connect it all. When I go home tonight I'll be able to check it all out.
2. I have a prescription for glasses. I feel old.

Text Only
The Crafto-Camera is under the weather right now. It won't take pictures and the lens won't telescope back into its closed, compact position. I just changed the batteries, so I'm hoping that the issue is only a matter of the batteries being old and lacking in power.
It's ok, though, because there's not much to show today. There's been progress on Attic Renovation 2008, but progress in ways that aren't resulting in a lot of visible change. Sheetrock mudding and sanding and that sort of thing. Mudded sheetrock looks a lot like un-mudded sheetrock. So really, no point in posting picutres.
I could show you a shot of my latest knitting, but it's just a bunch of pale yellow cotton stockinette, so pretty much the opposite of exciting. Snoozefest, really. I'll spare you all. :)

Must focus on the positive. Positive, positive, positive.
I've been grumpy lately, which in a big picture sort of way isn't like me, but in a past-several-months sort of way has become par for the course. I'm not going to get into the self-analysis of why I've been wearin' the crankypants, but I really want to get back to a more upbeat frame of mind... so instead of complaining about how long it's taking to have my attic renovated, I'm going to post pictures and focus on how much has been done in the last few weeks.

Gearing up for the weekend...
The last time I posted about the many things I hoped to accomplish over a weekend, it ended up being good motivation for me. So I'll try it again, since I have lots of stuff on my figurative plate right now.
Scheduled Items:
- breakfast with Pops
- haircut
- out on the town Saturday night
- caucus on Sunday! (fellow Maine registered democrats, get yer tookuses to a caucus!)
Items of Undefined Timing Which Must Also Get Done:
- keep on refinishing those darn closet doors. I mean, those lovely vintage closet doors that I love so well. And that I will love even more once they're done.
- start vegetable garden seedlings. This most likely will be done whilst looking out the window at falling snow. Yeah, irony!
- Finish. And. File. My. Taxes. Uncle Sam won't send me my nice big refund until I file. So I must file.
- photographically capture the progress made so far on my Hourglass sweater, to post here and on Ravelry
- call and/or email about a thousand and one friends I've not talked to in too long
- go to the gym twice

Turning point...
There's been enough progress with Attic Renovation 2008 at this point to get a better sense of what the room is going to look like when it's done. This is making it so much easier to deal with the chaos in the rest of my house. I mean, it's still really bothering me, but now I can focus more on the end result. Well, *right* now, at least. We'll see about tomorrow.
So here's what everything looks like today:
